Peter and I bought our 17 hectares in Paradise in 2017, when it was just bare land. Since then, we have planted 22,000 native trees, built our forever home (which runs on solar power, while using firewood to heat the house in winter), planted a firewood forest and are raising 2 teenage boys! We have 2 dogs, Stanley (our 8-year-old black Labrador) and Bailey (our ‘foster fail’ covid puppy, a huntaway heading dog cross) and a very loud 12-year-old cat called Katie!

Peter runs our product distribution business, On Point Distribution, in the office & warehouse beside the Farmstay apartment, but can often be seen in farmer attire, working on the property! I (Nina) am a small animal veterinarian and work 2-3 days per week for local practices in the Bay. We grow a lot of our own food (herbs, vegetables, fruit, chicken, eggs, beef and lamb and even trade lamb for locally caught fish from one of our friends).

We try to live as sustainably as possible and when not working on the property or at our ‘jobs’, we love to enjoy all NZ has to offer, both locally and further afield. We can sometimes be seen with our feet up, enjoying a glass of wine, but we need to get better at making the time for that!
 

When you stay with us make sure you and/or your children have the full farm stay experience. Near your accommodation are our very friendly pets. Our Flemish Giant rabbits like to be hand feed and patted, the chickens like to be feed and your kids could collect the eggs for us if they want. Our two goats and friendly sheep love a pat as do our two Jersey cows. 

We are happy to arrange a face to face meeting with them and you and your family if it fits in with your busy holiday and our timetable, otherwise you can also visit them yourself.
